Macro

Macros record sequences of keystrokes, allowing frequently used inputs to be made quickly and accurately by pressing the play back keystroke combination, or by right clicking the mouse over the res windows to display a playback list.

Note:

Personal Macro

Personal Macros are saved based on an employee's login password. An employee may have an unlimited number of personal macro files.

Office Macro

Office Macros are a set of commonly recorded keystrokes, stored in a single file, available to all employees with the same SID/Customer Number Group for play back.

Click Tools on the Navigation Bar.

Click Macro Editor to access the Macro Editor.

Create a New Macro

1.

Click the Record button.

Note: Mistakes can be cleaned up after recording, by using the edit mode.

1a.

If a macro is present, the following dialog box will appear.

Click Yes to append keystrokes to an existing macro.

Click No to start an entirely new macro.

2.

Type the Worldspan formats in the Res Windows.

Recording inputs can be done in the Res Windows.

Recording can also be done by typing directly into the editor.

Example: 5RM-THIS IS A PENALTY FARE.

Macro Keys Help can assist in using different functions to program a Macro Key.

Note: It is best to print the Macro Key Help page for a reference.

Click the Stop button to stop the recording mode.

4.

Click the Save button to save the Macro.

5.

Type the name of the Macro key in the File name field. Replace the asterisk (*) with your file name, e.g. penalty_remark.wsm.

If the Macro being recorded is an Office Macro, select the Office Macros Directory.

Note: Macros must be saved in the proper directory.

Click the Save button.

The Macro Editor screen redisplays.

Note: If you receive this error message after you click the save button please do the following steps.

Click on View and choose Internet Options.

Click on the Security Tab and set security settings to low.

If you receive this warning message click Yes.

Once this is complete go back to step 1 and create a Macro.

A Macro can be played back from the assigned keystrokes, by the right click menu in Res Windows, or by using the play button in the Macro Editor.

Note: For keystroke assignments, See Assign a Macro to a Keystroke.

Click the right mouse button while the pointer is over the res windows to display all available Macros.

Select Personal Macros to display a list of all Personal Macros; or select Office Macros to display a list of all Office Macros.

Highlight the macro to be played back and press the left mouse button.

Keystroke:

Press Shift (A-Z) to play back Personal Macros.
Press Ctrl+Shift (A-Z) to play back Office Macros.

Note:

• The macros appear in alphabetical order, if it is assigned to a keystroke. These keystrokes will appear on the right hand side of the list.

• The unmapped macros must be played back from this list.

Click Assign Keystrokes button.

The Keystroke Assignments page appears. Click in the checkbox next to the desired keystroke.

If the key is already assigned, click twice (once to unassign and again to assign).

If the key being assigned is for an Office Macro, select Office to assign the Ctrl+Shift+keystroke.

Note: This option is only available to Office Macro Editors.

Select the name of the macro for which the keystroke assignment is being made.

Click Open.

The Keystroke Assignments page redisplays. The Assigned column box is checked and the Macro name appears.

Click the right mouse button to display a list of keystroke assignments.

Note: Make sure either the personal or the office buttons are marked correctly. The personal keystroke button will default automatically.

On the Macro screen:

Highlight the name of the Macro.

Click the Open button.

If the Macro to be edited is an Office Macro, select the Office Macros Directory.

The macro keystrokes appear in the text area.

Click, and place the cursor where the correction will begin.Type the correction.

The pause is added by pressing the pause key (~') while recording, or by typing the pause command at the point where the variable data will be entered.

Below is a sample macro for building a manual air segment, which also prompts the user for the variable data to be entered.
